Identification of the Problems of Engine Bearing

Identification of the Problems of Engine Bearing Points : identification of the problems of engine bearing, problems in internal combustion engines, ic, engine, auto diesel Burned-out bearings are not common. As such, they might better be termed ‘melted-out’, for what actually happens is that, for some reason, the temperature of the bearing goes above the softening or melting point of the lining material. The result is that it flows out and leaves the shaft or rod loose so that it knocks and pounds against the steel or bronze backing. Unless the engine is stopped quickly, serious damage may occur. Trouble of this sort is almost invariably the result of a stoppage of the oil supply, or with newly fitted bearings, from inadequate clearance, when a connecting rod bearing failure occurs, do not stop with its replacement; investigate the conditions of its adjacent main bearing, the main bearing which supplies the rod bearing with oil may be so badly worn or broken up that it cannot maintain oil pressure and the rod is starved for lubrication.
