During the successive revolutions of the motor shaft, the volume of the trapped vapor pockets is reduced, & the compression process is complete when the gaseous refrigerant is compressed to its maximum pressure & just before the compressed gaseous pocket is opened to the discharge port. During discharge, the trapped gas pockets open to the discharge port. All compressed hot gas is discharged through the discharge port to the discharge line. The volume of the gas pockets is reduced the zero. The sequence, of intake, compression & discharge occurs simultaneously in the two trapped gas pockets.
The water absorbent returns to the absorber and the pressurized ammonia vapor flow to the condenser. As heat is removed for the ammonia vapor due to the air blowing across the condenser coil, the vapor is cooled & returns to a liquid form while still under pressure. The liquid ammonia then flow through a metering device & flashed into the low pressure chamber. The ammonia refrigerant is again a vapor & the cycle beings again.
