Absorption Air Conditioning System

Absorption Air Conditioning System Points : absorption air conditioning system, fundamental absorption cycle Fundamental Absorption Cycle Before discussing the absorption refrigeration cycle, certain terms should be defined. 1. ABSORBENT A substance readily capable of taking in and retaining moisture form the atmosphere. 2. ABSORBER A vessel containing, liquid for absorbing refrigerant vapor. 3. CONCENTRATOR A vessel containing a solution of absorbent and refrigerant to which eat is supplied for the purpose of boiling away some of the refrigerant. 4. CONCENTRATED SOLUTION A solution with large concentration of absorbent and only a small amount of dissolved refrigerant. 5. DILUTE SOLUTION An absorbent solution, dilute by a large amount of dissolved refrigerant. 6. CONDENSER A vessel in which vaporized refrigerant is liquefied by removal of heat. 7. EVAPORATOR A vessel in which refrigerant is vaporized to produce a refrigeration effect. 8. HEAT EXCHANGER A device used to transfer heat between two physically separate fluids. 9. HEAT OF CONDENSATION The heat released when a vapor condenses a liquid. 10. HEAT OF DILUTION The heat released when the liquid are mixed. This is sometime refers to as the heat of absorption since in the mixing process one liquid may absorb the other. 11. SENSIBLE HEAT Heat used to raise or lower the temperature of a substance.
